Importance of hand washing  :

One thing that COVID-19 has led to is excessive hand-washing.Washing hands with soap /hand washes and clean it with water for 10-20 seconds is a sensible strategy for hand hygiene in non-healthcare settings and is recommended by the CDC and other experts. If soap and clean water are not available, an alcohol-based hand hygiene product is recommended. However, when hands are visibly soiled, they should be washed with soap and water.

Which hand to use lifebuoy, santoor or patanjali? Have you ever gone through the ingredients list of hand washes you are using?
If not then very disappointing to say that most trusted hand washes in Indian market are loaded with many harsh skin penetrating chemicals which may cause -

»Dryness

         Redness
         Itching
         Pain
Dryness, to the point of peeling and flaking

Handwashing and constantly using alcohol-based hand sanitizers leads to severe skin conditions. Hand sanitizers, while being effective in killing germs and bacteria, can lead to severe hand dermatitis when used in excess,” says Dr Rohit Batra, a consultant at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Founder, Dermaworld Skin & Hair Clinics. “All antiseptic soaps contain harsh chemicals, while alcohol-based sanitizers suck the skin moisture,” he adds.
If you are using this kinda stuff then you make a serious dent  issue and your health will be in danger .Do you know? An average person takes head bath three to four times a week, washes his body once a day but washes his hand seven to ten times a day. So it become extremely important to use right hand wash without chemical and toxic.

In this blog we will see 20 hand wash selling in Indian market after knowing each ingredient in them. Most Indians including little kids using this hand wash in there daily life to kill gems and making their life better but reality is different; you use such toxic hand wash and harming yourself, your health.

What Chemicals Are In Your Hand Wash?

"Almost every Indian hand wash contains SLS(sodium lauryl sulphate), which is linked with skin irritation, dryness, and dermatitis, while it can also cause respiratory irritation. These products also contain chemicals that have been banned in numerous countries, such as benzalkonium chloride, benzethonium chloride, and chloroxylenol."

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate
Sodium lauryl sulphate is linked to skin irritation as well as respiratory tract irritation and prolonged use can cause skin dryness and dermatitis.

Parabens
Chemicals called parabens are often used in hand wash as they increase a product's shelf life. Parabens can also decrease muscle mass and increase fat storage - did you ever imagine that your hand wash could be the reason you can't lose weight!

Other Harmful Chemicals
Some of the other potentially harmful chemicals in our hand wash include benzalkonium chloride, benzethonium chloride, and chloroxylenol which have been banned in some countries! Hand wash chemicals such as triclosan and triclocarban can cause muscle weakness and even disrupt hormone cycles.

Here I divided hand washes in 3 classes/group on the basis of harmful chemicals /toxic present in them. So you can easily identify which hand wash is best to use -

Group  1 —

It include hand washes like Dettol, lifebuoy, Santoor, Savlon, Godrej , Lux, Fiama ,and Fem

In Dettol  from  sodium haureth  sulfate to methyl para Ben, in Lifebuoy from alcohol to cosmetic color, in  santoor   from cosmetic color to artificial fragrance each of this may have over ten harsh chemicals which damage our skin and cause many health problems.
Using this hand wash in daily basis that all covering 80% of Indian market is very disappointed other too have similar story.
It just a result of over smart marketing of this products using tactics and catchy phrases that they write on there product. Which make us believe that they are very good to use as shown in advertisement. The amount of effort they put in misleading this product, they has to put the same in right ingredients

This hand washes claim to be antibacterial but the synthetic added in them even kill the healthy bacteria which are extremely important for our health, proper nourishment of skin.
Moreover chemicals like SLS which have the penetrate the skin this micro harsh chemicals become the reason for most skin problems and also mix up with your blood to cause deadly diseases like cancer. If you use this type of hand washes for sure  you somehow damaging your skin

 Group  2

This includes so called natural hand washes like Dettol, Patanjali, Medex,Tea Tree  Green
vilie .This are those hand washes which are just selling hand washes on the name of natural herbal and and all that good stuff. All this again be Featured as they recently launched a new hand washes which they claim to have created with toxic, harsh Chemical and  dye free but it's reality will be known when you see the ingredients after turning the bottle ,uses of SLS based with antibacterial agents which is far away from herbal .

Patanjali known for its natural herbal only have small amount of Tulsi and Neem but cheap sufactant base with preservatives, cosmetic colour and perfume in that . As the
fragrances keep lingering for Longtime we have no idea what undisclosed chemical we are inhaling and what damaging our body somehow.

Some imported product like Aloe Vera and Tea Tree are claim with antibacterial but all synthetic product are use in making it. There colour which is also synthetic.
Mintry citrus hand wash by green viv natural which charged you a fortune but again a disappointing thought it's free from sulfate but that alone doesn't make it toxin free .

Actually there are many hand washes fall in the same category. Overall all these hand washes are bit better than the ones in group 1 but still you have to away from them.
So all this 15 hand washes none is being up to the mark. Are there any hand washes which can be use on daily basis without any worry?  Answer is yes --
