Effect of thought on Health and the Body

The body is the servant of the mind. It obeys the operation of the mind, whether they be deliberately chosen or automatically expressed. At the bidding of unlawful (unhealthy) thoughts the body sinks rapidly into disease and decay ; at the command of glad and beautiful thought it becomes clothes with youthfulness and beauty.  We sometimes get carried away by  stress, tension, anxiety, depression, hate and other negativity feeling without even considering that it can affect us emotionally and physically, lowering our quality of life. The mind connection is much stronger than we think, as our thoughts and emotions stimulate the production of certain chemical that influence our physical and emotional health. For example serotonin and dopamine are two chemicals that our brain releases when we're experiencing happiness or euphoria.  A similar process occur with negative emotions, but instead of making the body well, they cause pain and other aliments that  prevent us from f

Know more about Endurance, components of physical fitness.

Endurance is significant component of physical fitness which is determined by the following physiological factors.

1. Aerobic capacity:

To perform an activity Continuously, energy is required by the muscles which can be supplied by the presence of oxygen. Therefore, the ability of the organism to maintain adequate supply of oxygen to the working muscles i. e, aerobic capacity for energy libration is important for endurance performance.  The aerobic capacity depends on the following factors.

#1. Oxygen Intake It is the amount of oxygen which can be taken by lungs from atmosphere. If this amount is more then it is a better for achieving higher VO2 max.

#2. Oxygen transport :  The amount of oxygen taken into the blood from lungs has to be transported to the working place

#3. Oxygen uptake :  The amount of oxygen which can be consume by working muscles from the blood is called oxygen uptake.

#4. Energy reserves:  The aerobic capacity also depends upon the availability of fuel to the muscles from which energy for the activity can be derived.

2. Lactic acid tolerance:

The ability to tolerate higher concentration of lactic acid is a significant factor in determining anaerobic capacity. The lactic acid tolerance is important for activities that last for about 40 sec or more  . Tolerance capacity can be improve through training.

3. Movement Economy:

The economical movements are for endurance perform. A runner, who can run at a given pace with less energy expenditure can continue with the same speed  for longer duration. For economy in movements, good runners set their center of gravity less high, so that unnecessary movements are reduced.

4. Muscle combination:

There are two type of muscles fibres such as slow twitch fibres and fast twitch fibres. The slow twitch fibres are best used for aerobic activities or endurance activities. They produce small number of force for long periods of time and that is why, they produce better results for endurance activities.
